I find myself having more fun each day with Thomas as well as trying to keep track of him. At the end of July he started scooting and a couple days later slowly crawling. Thomas would take a couple movements forward on his hands and knees and then lay on his tummy and move his arms and legs as if he were swimming (we called it his skydiving move) and then he would move a bit more and then do the same thing. It was so entertaining to watch him and many of those who saw him got a good laugh watching his little system he had going.
Unfortunately, as Thomas has gotten better at his crawling he no longer needs to stop and rest as much as he makes his way to wherever his attention is drawn and therefore his fun little 'skydiving' move we have come to love is not seen much anymore.
Thomas likes to chew on just about anything, especially paper. The other day I gave him some orange craft type paper and a few minutes later I looked at him and his mouth and hands were orange too. I do have to check inside his mouth from time to time if I see him chewing but no paper in his hands because that means he has some piece waded in his mouth and I have to sweep it out. He also like remote controls for the TV and DVD player and wires perhaps dangling from the computer table, pulling DVD's off the low shelf from the entertainment center, shoes (for whatever reason he likes my sandals), books and other toys and anything else that he gets into his hands. He has been pulling himself up more and more against the coffee table, counters, shelves, doors his mommy and daddy's legs, and the fireplace and of course due to slightly wobbly legs sometimes, he has taken a few spills and bumped his head and/or face resulting in a screaming baby and a bump requiring ice which makes him keep crying (he doesn't like cold things on his head) he does like to suck on ice however.
Another breakthrough, literally, is another tooth. Thomas cut his first two bottom teeth in the middle of June and just this morning (Aug. 21) I noticed a third bottom tooth has popped through the gums. That does help explain the gnawing on things.
Its fun to watch him develop and see a budding personality.
So, you know you guys could move out here where we could all see him. . . the housing market is better and Thomas will have a new cousin next summer . . .hint, hint . . .
